Just in case anyone is interested, some people from canonrumors have been emailing Canon and asking about the possibility of adding micro adjustment to the 60D's firmware.

The first guy got a reply which suggested it might be possible to add it before release (which sounds unlikely to me). Other people get "thanks for the feedback" replies.

Here is a link to the thread on their forum (I hope it's OK to post it here)...

http://www.canonrumors.com …ndex.php/topic,127.0.html (external link)

Maybe if enough people say they want it Canon will do it? It is a firmware feature after all...

I am not looking to upgrade now, but when I do and if MA is available for the 60D, I would be inclined to definitely give it more consideration.

Even if the 60D had MA I wouldn't be interested at all. The 50D is still the superior camera for my needs.

I love the optimism of youth....
if the canon suits wanted MA on the 60d it would already be there. They had to explicitly NOT put it into the 60d... so do you really think a couple hundred emails will change their mind?

If someone can afford the thousand for the 60D, they might want to (and Canon wants them to) save up a little more for the 7D. That thing is wicked fast.

Of course, the 60D will definitely be better for video because of the screen.

Thank you. bw!

They did increase the useability of video on the 5dii after people complained that the t2i had better video than the 5d.

5D2 price is more than 2x 60D's with a whole different set of audience to please, I wonder why.

Some pros shoot video with the 5DII as well. Canon doesn't want to alienate that crowd.

canon just doesn't want all these cameras coming back as defective because the 60D's intended market won't know how to use the function

I'm not sure many of the 7D and 5Dmk2 users do based on some of the threads we get!

The faster burst speed, dual processor, and more durable construction will already steer most pros toward the 7D (if they want 1.6x sensor). The lack of MA makes the 60D incredibly hard to cost-justify when compared to the T2i, which is also a fantastic camera.

It is also the clearest downgrade from the previous xxD series models. I don't think that I am the only person who is not getting a 7D anytime soon, but who would be far more inclined to want a 60D with that feature.

The t1i came out very shortly after the 50D, and I never understood why they didnt include video in the 50D. Its twice the price of the t1i.
My point is that the 5dii didnt have full time hd or 24fps 1080p or something like that but the t2i did. The 5Dii group complained and got it. So its worth a chance for the 60d crowd, if anyone actually buys the camera.

It was not the forum whiners who got Canon to improved the HD video capability on the 5D Mk II -- it was the big name professionals.

The question that hasn't been asked yet:

How the hell did the Canon Rumors guy JUST realize that the 60d has no MA?
