7D vs 60D

I love my 7d but man I sure could use that articulating screen for video especially doing the bend over backwards stuff for weddings and focusing is already a pain.

Now, do I sell my 7d and have to get new memory cards just wait it out till the rest of the canon line gets fitted with the new screens? (also profit $300)

Weather sealing is no issue to me since Los angeles it doesn't rain much and if it does i'm out.

7d doesn't let you control sound and the 60d does so thats a plus.

60d is lighter, but doesn't have the superb focusing system like the 7d but i'm no sports photographer so even the 5D is fine.

I think canon really shot themselves in the foot completely obsoleting the 7d?

I can only imaging what this thread is going to become...

I do not think the 60D is "completely obsoleting" the 7D - not even close...

Sounds to me like the articulating screen is the killer feature for you...I know it isn't for me and it's not for a ton of people (I would even venture to say the vast majority). The 60d is a much lower-end camera in my opinion from body to features than the 7d. But it's really all about what you need/like. If the articulating screen is the killer feature for you then go for it!

I was looking at this thread and was not going to say anything , but If I had to buy again I would get another 7D there is NOTHING on the 60D that attracts me .

NON CF would kill any thoughts of a 60d for me...after using sd on my 1dmk2n it is MUCH slower than my slowest cf card

Um, No

Really? Making the 7D obsolete because of an articulating screen and sound control? If those are features that someone wants then that's fine but how in the world do those two things make a 7D obsolete? Much better AF, dual Digic 4, magnesium body, weather sealing, 8 fps...............

I would like an articulating screen, but I wouldnt give up my 7D for it, but hey, its you, get what suits you best, thats the whole point of different models afterall..

Canon has figured out away to sell millions of cameras, they can shoot themselves wherever they want, people will keep buying.

Clearly, we each have our own needs and wants ... hey, I wouldn't trade my 50D for a 60d

pretty sure my 7D didnt become obsolete because of the 60D.

Magnesium is strong but steel is stronger, oh wait, lets make it out of titanium! Plastic is fine for me since my camera has never seen the floor and if it does, the glass lens will cost much more than body.

Honestly the 5d3 would be my perfect camera with articulating screen, wireless flash, larger screen, better video focusing.

For now we gotta wait!

The point isn't to come out with one camera after another that overlap. You want longevity to a model line.
