My girlfriend was in a Music Video this weekend and I had a chance to snap some pictures of her in the costume in between takes. It's not the best lighting or the sort of backdrop I would normally use, but the costume and make up was just so cool I thought I would share.

5dII, 50 mm f/1.4

With the exception of the first photo, minimal post processing has been done.

You are right -lighting is not the best, and for different reasons in each.
And as you have noticed, the backdrop is not good since her hair blends with it.
Having said that, I think compositionally #2 works best IMHO
For number #3, I would find an antique looking couch/chair. Modern leather is a dead give away ;-)a

cheers, Paul

I like them, especially the last one..sometimes you have to work with what is given you, and I think you did really well.

It was actually quite a beautiful home that they were shooting in (mansion in beverly hills). It had an amazing backyard akin to the garden of a palace. I really wanted to take her outside and shoot but the costume designer almost ripped my head off as we got close to the door. He was quite protective of his costume =p

Very interesting photos, but I wonder.......did the costume designer forget to attach the decorative cuff on the left sleeve?

Believe in your heart that something wonderful is about to happen.

The dress is actually an exact replica of one featured in a London Museum. I guess in the period design only one cuff was decorative.
