went from a xs to a t2i then a 50d needed micro lens adjustment and did not really want video good decision or not? I have a sigma 301.4 and the focus is off that's why I made my decision, I was debating between the 50d and the 7d but with the high price tag I'd rather save the money and get a 50d then get my dream lens the 135L. I also have a Canon 501.4, canon 17-40L, and the canon 70-300 is usm is this a good setup off lenses you think?

Any particular reason you didn't just send the lens in for calibration?

Think you've made a wise choice.. Once the 50D is set up it's a brilliant camera..

The 50D and 135L make an outstanding combination..

If video is not important then yes to the 50D. I know the metering system is newer on the 550D but your getting a better built DSLR in return.

It's a fine setup, worry not. The micro focus feature of the 50D is well worth the investment. It is nice to be able to match perfectly your lenses to your body.

T2i to 50D is a good choice IMO.

i think just based on what you said regarding you lack of need for video, then your 50d should serve you well. What i wouldve done is sell th t2i and get the 7d under the canon loyalty program and have a 7d for $1200 Shipped..im sure u couldve sold the t2i for 650-700 fairly easily and walked away with a 7d for $500 which in my opinion a better overall camera then the 50d.

I believe the way the loyalty program works is that you can exchange a broken older camera plus cash for a new one. I'm not sure the 7D is being offered, but if so you're better off selling a working camera to a third party and purchasing new.

Personally, if I had a T2i, I would have jumped to a 7D.

Don't worry, the 50D is an awesome DSLR. It's just not as awesome as the other DSLRs available.

I didnt want to deal with the hassle off sending my lens in, my original plan was to get a 50d upgrading from a xs but my brother told me try the t2i with the new focus system and metering and also video i was kind of tempting with the tech canon did but the video eats up to much space for me and also the build was a little weak for me. I always wanted something with weather sealed and fast shutter speed for sports so i cant wait to get just ordered from adorama should be hear this week.bw!

yeah the 7d is currently being offered and u can just buy a broken powershot from ebay for like a couple bucks...trade that baby in for a 7d and sell the t2i...i mean if i really wanted a 7d thats what i would do...but i dont i need a 7d so yep...to each his own i guess..

I'm off-topic, but this is sort of a "hidden" problem with on-camera focus adjustment. How many used lenses have we seen in the for sale forum where the seller says something like "calibrated by Canon/Sigma/etc. and the focus is spot-on?"

Now, with MFA, when it comes time to sell a lens shouldn't we expect the sellers to say something like, "Needed +5 on my 7D so if you have a Rebel/older xxD, older xD, 60D, you might have focus issues?"
