Got the 7D this past Wednesday so I had to go try it out this past weekend. It exceeded my expectations.

I'm not really sure why some people complain about the focusing as I shot with it out of the box Wednesday and didn't have any problems except for the lack of birds.

Everyday use: 7D2, 1.4x v3 Canon TC (sometimes the 2x v2 Canon TC), Canon 500mm f4 L IS USM; 6D, 24-105L

Congratulations on the new camera, Great shots of the Curlews, a Bird I would love to shoot someday... The 7D is a great camera and tracks and focuses well.
