 That's one hell of an alarm clock, I wouldn't want to be the one to smack the snooze button though.

Wonderful! So rare to see a big maned male. I'm jealous.

I read that and immediately thought of the scene in "Wild Hogs" where they slap the bull on the ass!

Thanks. We were staying at a campsite just 1.5 kms from a waterhole - and the area has a pride of lions. We had planned to reach the waterhole before sunrise at 6:00.

We overslept and the lions woke us up and we reached the waterhole just in time.....so, literally a wakeup call from the lion it was!!

Great shot! (We had one come through camp at 2 a.m. -- ended up roaring just outside my tent. Ulp...)

beautiful lion and a perfect stare...would prefer a closer crop if you had the pixels, although is does seem like early morning or late evening, so may not be too sharp if cropped in?

Asavani, that was actually an almost uncropped pic :) He was right in front of the vehicle. Will be getting back to the pic for some closer cropping. Thanks for the suggestion...

Great shot. I think my knees would be knocking if I were that close to big cat in the wild let alone "hitting the snooze button"! LOL

I'd take that wake-up call over a common rooster any day!
