Hi guys,

Heard good things about the ShootSac and a lot of Wedding photographers seem to be using this. Just wondering if anyone has compared it to the new Think Tank Lens Changer bags?

I currently have a Think Tank Urban Disguise bag which quyality wise is excellent but not good for quick changing of lenses.

Thanks

If you are changing lenses alot and want a bag that is more substantial try the BODA V3. Very sturdy and made for quick lens changes.

My friend has the Shootsac and loves it. I would love one, but I don't shoot that way. I have 3 camera bodies and 3 lenses and 2 primes just in case I can get portraits in. Have 3 lenses in one bag without being able to carry a camera body is impractical for the way I shoot, but my friend loves having her primes in the Shootsac and changing them when needed. She shoots with my old 5DC.

I had a Shootsac before and sold it for a Boda Dry and upgraded to the Boda v3.

I use the 24-70 and 70-200 and a 580EX mainly.

They all fit into a Shootsac, but because of its size, it gets 'stuck' and doesn't slip in and out the Shootsac easily, hence the switch to a Boda. The fit for 1.2 primes might be tight on the Shootsac too. However the Shootsac was awesome when packing as it stores FLAT meaning it takes up virtually no extra space in my TT Airport Security. I store my lenses inside the Boda which go into the TT Airport Security now.

I bought the Retrospective 30 and took a look a the lens changers. The lens changer 3 would be optimal in my opinion. Assuming i have the 24-70 on the camera, I keep the 70-200 2.8 IS II in one tube, the 580EX II in one tube, and 1 tube empty to 'drop' the 24-70 in while pulling out the 70-200 to replace the 24-70 (to visually see what i'm talking about, watch this 5:30 onwardshttp://www.youtube.com …N55MJ3m9Q&feature=related (external link)). The 580 EX II will then have its own tube for whenever i want to whip it out.

That's how i use the Boda and how i would use the Lens Changer 3. Let's hear more opinions!

^ yeah, basically the number of lens spaces you need will be every lens you're going to use, including the one on-camera so you can easily swap around. That'd be the optimal.

Thanks for the input guys.

The Boda looks very well designed and sure can carry a lot, however I am not too hot on the design. Looks a little too much like a camera bag for me. I prefer something a little more subtle and, dare I say stylish. If I was a sports shooter or something I could definitely see me going for it though.

Looks wise I really like the Think Tank one, but one more problem I have noted is that there isn't anywhere to specifically put a flash gun. An elasticated pocket on the end of each side of the bag would have been ideal as my Urban Disguise has one of these which I always put my flash gun in. I guess I could put it in the rear panel (that lays against the body) but I imagine this may be somewhat uncomfortable.

Shootsac I like the idea of and I believe it has 3 rear pockets also so the flashgun could go in there, however I feel it is a lot of money for what it actually is. Plus neoprene (or whatever it is called) looks a bit naff. I understand it's also difficult to source these in the UK?

Lens wise I'm gonna be looking at a 50mm 1.4, 70-200mm, 35mm 1.4 (when I get it) and a 28-75mm. In fact once I have the 35mm I may just leave the 28-75mm zoom in my case which would then create a space for the flash.

Thanks
Rob

Oh and I'm 5'8" and just shy of 140 pounds so I tend to prefer something not too bulky.

Thanks
Rob

I have the same question . . . I shoot primes. Shootsac looks appealing, but the price is awful for what it is!

A friend I shoot with uses one and I plan on buying one. It's not bulke at all. With time, the bag gives a bit and the lesnes go in with much more ease. Its cary casual looking and if easy to use for sure.

i have boda v3 for couple months and i hate to carry it during wedding reception. It keeps bumping to someone. I want to buy the shootsac but i think it is overpriced.

Finally I got the lowepro exchange messenger and covered a wedding last week, it isn't a perfect bag but i kind of like it,
