Thought I would do a separate post of a couple of shots from a visit to a local butterfly farm – all taken on the G11 with extra close-up filters fitted on an adapter tube, camera was then fitted with an off-camera flash cord controlling an 340EX on a Custom Bracket - Mini RC, the flash was fitted with a large diffuser.

1 - Sigma +1.6

Thanks Dave, they were fun to take... Shots were taken at the Butterfly & Fountain World on the Isle of Wight. I also enjoyed doing this, a composite photo of the Needles which are the famous rocks at the end of the island, I just loved the sky in these - clicking on the image should take you to a larger version 1,204 x 500 pixels @ 180kb...

Great shots John. Are you sure you're not using a DSLR :-) , I'm sure most folks would say a G11 could never produce such excellent results...but then I believe the photographer is always the major factor.

Dennis - I tend to keep the DSLRs for things that move quickly. I just love photography and I get as much fun out of using the G11 as I do with my big DSLR. Fully agree with your comments about it being people that take pictures, it is not just about the kit, spending big money or having the latest and greatest. Another one…

Thanks Michael - I have been doing some playing with the Needles shots, a couple of B&W conversions... these have been converted using a yellow filter, which added nice tones.

The wide, panorama shot - I actually prefer these??
