We seem to have a fair few wasp spiders that have moved into our garden and they have featured fairly heavily in y 365 over the last couple of weeks and would like to get some constructive help as to what I am doing both right and wrong :)

All pictures were taken with the 55-250is with a Rynox DCR150 mounted on it with my XSI

I am so freaking jealous, I have been looking for a beautiful Garden Spider to shoot since my new found hobby.
I remember there was a beautiful one on the side of the farm house we rented when I was a kid, I would feed it and watch it all summer long. It got to be VERY big.

I live in the city now and no chance of finding one here :(

BTW: That is a Yellow (Female) Garden spider. I think one of the most beautiful spiders, and yours' is a very fine looking one, feed her and keep her safe. Oh, and keep shooting her too. I want more pictures.

Thanks Al, as far as I can ascertain she is a female wasp spider http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argiope_bruennichi (external link) really beautiful creature, and fairly common across central Europe although this is the first time I have seen one in the 2.5 years we have been here and we have a few of them in the garden.

The all seem to sit with their face down though so getting a macro shot of the eyes and head are proving difficult but am keeping my eyes open to see if one buods a web in a more accesible spot :)
