I'm planning to send in my lenses and body for calibration. However, they do not open on the weekends so would be asking my colleague (who lives around that area) to drop them off for me.

1. Could there be a problem if someone else (other than myself) drop off the equipment? and what about when picking up?
2. When dropping them off, should I be packing them back into their original boxes? I read it somewhere not to drop off any accessories, perhaps only caps for the body and lens.
3. Other than the original receipts (to proof the warranty), what else would I need to give them?

Any other valuable information before I send them off would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

no need for boxes, etc....just lens/body caps. they dont even need your battery or mem card.

if your friend drops it off, make sure he uses your name and info...otherwise you will not be able to pick up yourself if he uses his info (you wouldnt even be able to call to check status if its not in your name...privacy issues).

I would just drop it off myself so that you can explain the work/repair being requested. I dont remember if I was asked for ID the last time I was there, but that may be a problem if your friend drops it off with your receipts.

Only an untrained eye can appreciate the sharpness of a lens...

Got it. Thanks for the information. I think I'll just take them there myself during lunch time.
