Did a bunch of day hikes in Glacier last month. Still trying to get thru all of the pictures. Here is a piece of ice in the lake. 8-4-10 and there was still almost to much ice.

Forgot. It was taken with 7D and 100-400. 1/800 sec at f6.5 iso 100.

I really like the simple composition here. Only thing that distracts my eyes is the blown highlight areas.

Thanks. Have the shot in plus and minus 2 stops. May have to try HDR to recover the highlights.

I like the color version. I love the color of the water and ice in Glacier.

Lazuks.
Didn't think there was any detail in the blown part. That was a surprise!
I like the color better myself. but you did a good job.

It was a 20 second PP. Anytime something has a real simple element to it in a picture, I try it in B&W for fun.

BTW to get the detail back, use photoshop, go up to the top, Image>adjustments>Shadow/highlights.

Drag highlight bar to right.

Great shot. I like the contemporary feel. One of my favorite shots is of an iceberg on the same lake. I wish I could have made it up there on this last trip in Aug. Thanks for sharing.
