I just bought Lexar Platinum II 16GB 200x CF card

the card itself said 200X but when I open it, the box said 80x underneath the card and on the side it has a sticker that says 200x that cover 80x.

see the attach picture.

is this normal for Lexar cards? they recycle the box? Or did I get an 80x with 200x sticker CF card

I think that marking on the card is the real speed.

Just looking at the package(from what I think I see) it looks like it reads at 200x 30mb and writes at 80x 12mb

Flash Memory Toolkit is a good program for testing the "relative" speed of one CF card to another. It won't verify the manufacturer speed rating as card readers, usb and pcmia interfaces slows read/write speeds down, but it will tell you if one card is faster than the other.

Test using usb 2.0 card reader

As you can see relatively speaking the Sandisk has about a 4x write speed advantage, over the newer cheap generic card.
