Taken with a Yashica A TLR. Super fun but challenging using a viewfinder like the TLR has. Using the old sliding scale of sunny 16 or my Sekonic for these. My thoughts: A. Medium format is incredible resolution (we all knew that) but seriously, if you want a big image... use medium format. B.Portra can be sharp and so smooth.

Cheers. I have my grandfathers Yashica A sitting on my desk, but it badly needs a replacement focus screen. I really can't wait to start shooting medium format. Shooting 35mm is fun with my OM-2, but you're right that the resolution leaves a lot to be desired. I'm just holding out for a good deal on a Hasselblad 500C/CM setup.

You can also try the next best thing...use a medium format lens on your digital camera with an appropriate adapter. I've been using some of my older Mamiya 645 lenses on the 5D2 with an adapter from Fotodiox...incredible IQ.

It's already snowing in Wisconsin?? Lovely pictures especially the second one. God if only if I had one of those Medium Format cameras...

Many MF film cameras are not very expensive...depends what you're looking for. You can pick up a complete Mamiya 645 camera (body, prism, 120 film back), for example, for well under $500. Unfortunately, the better lenses still go for 'good' prices. MF digitals, OTOH, can sell for as much as a decent automobile.

To be honest, I thought only #3 looked sharp....or is that from scanning to digital?

Sorry for the delayed replies. Thanks for the comments. It was shot from the Spring through summer this year. And yes, the colors and color gradations are exceptional.
