Love your first shot especially, Norman! These birds normally take off almost as quick as the pileated woodpeckers do.
Thanks, yes they pretty quick..

These are great Norman.....love the one of the flicker.
Thanks much Sharon, he stayed a minute or two... His dad was just behind him in the shadows...

Hi Norman... fine shots... love your flicker shots. In the first one, he is taking a "sunbath" ... my chickadees really enjoy picking up a "few rays" year around

Thanks Dave, not sure about the sunbath, he kept flaring them in and out...

Great shots, Norm! I agree with Dave on the first one: sun bath!
Thanks Judy

Great shots of the flicker. Love the first one in particular because of the unusual pose. Nice work.
Thanks Levina, much appreciated..

Mourning doves can be quite colorful under the right lighting. They have a magnificent display of color at times. A very underrated bird. Plus I have fond memories of them cooing on my walk to grade school. Fantastic shots!
Thank you, yes they are underrated indeed.. Got lots around here...

Love the looks of that first shot Norman, with the feathers spread and the eye on you. I love seeing flickers. Nice captures!
Thanks Steve, there not plentiful around here, so when i have a chance to photograph them, it's always a big treat for me...
