Tom is a real expert on things that boom. I am just a pyromaniac from way back.

If you want to make a bang....ANFO is still the easiest and most readily available choice....just need a detonator. ;)

That^

I wondered if you were still about. I figured you would know a bit more.

What you said was 100% correct. We used to have to differentiate between high-order detonations and really loud fizzles.

Where did you learn about explosives? I thought you were an OS or RM or some other kind of twidget in the Navy. ;)

Though I believe the last stocks of explosive grade fertilizer have been bought up. The new configuration is made so it won't boom good. Ammonium nitrate for industrial use is still available with an explosive license.

The guys who put on the machine gun shoots at places like Knob creek bought a lot of it to make exploding targets before it became unavailable.

Didn't know that...

I had a friend that worked for General Dynamics in their cruise missile assembly facility. He repaired and calibrated electronic test equipment, but still worked in the "bomb factory." They used to have to evacuate any time there was any kind of storm because of the lightning danger.

With my background, you'd think I would be a natural with flash photography. Doesn't work that way. Maybe if it was flash/bang photography.
