g'mae... Hope Paris is doing better.

7D arrives tomorrow. I'm going to have a fun weekend. I read the manual in PDF form. I got worried my cards wouldn't handle the data rate required for movies. I double-checked. They do. (30MB/s) Woohoo!

I love the word dawdle!!

Caitlin's middle name is Dawn, and got nicknamed Caitlin Dawdle Bennett when she was real young. She loved to take time to smell the flowers, that's for sure. :D

Well, barring any unforeseen incidents, it looks like Greta will be going to her forever home tomorrow.

We had chalked her up as a long term foster, thinking we'd have her for a long time while she rehabilitates.
But this family was looking for a dog exactly like her, and it seems to be the perfect fit.
They already have a 13 year old rescued border collie who was just like Greta when they got him 10 years ago.

I'm so excited to meet them tomorrow. I hope everything goes as planned.

YAY Greta!!!

Great news Cat. A neighbour adopted an dog from Mexico that was either aggressive, or extremely submissive and hiding, nothing in between. Nearly two years later now Six is a very well adjusted dog. The owners have been great with her, and kept socializing her under supervision, and got him turned around great.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Blah, blah, blah. Yadda, yadda, yadda.

You could also get a bunch of M80's, randomly stick them in the ground where you want the flower bed to be, and start lighting them suckers off! Later, when the smoke clears, you have holes for the bulbs. Planting AND a floor show. Win/win.

puddlepirate44 wrote in post #11049315 (external link)
Any large, booming device to cultivate your flower bed will do.

No that was an urban legend. M-80's, like all fireworks that go boom, contain flash powder, a mix of aluminum powder and an oxidizer. Flash deflagerates, or burns real fast. Dynamite detonates and propagates with a shock wave at thousands of times faster than deflagerating powder. There is no real comparison between the two. you can have the biggest flash powder charge and it still will not shatter rock like dynamite does.

You just don't get this kind of education in any ole forum.:D

morning friends ,HAppy Birthday JAWA hope you have a wonderful day!
Paris is home ..does happy dance
Its been interesting her body is trying to cope with the new dose of meds , she is kinda hyper and really really hungry .We are trying to give her a few really low keyed days , Im gonna walk her later but other than that no ruffing or excitement .She seems a little different in her personality , but shes been through alot and I think shes coming around slowly .

Funny how when you love something being able to see and hug them means alot .

I'm sure if there was rock around this fireworks factory, they would have shattered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fYK0A8mRJ4 (external link)
When I first saw this video...for uh work training...I didn't think fireworks could do that. Although, I think these were display and not commercial fireworks.

If you want to make a bang....ANFO is still the easiest and most readily available choice....just need a detonator.

And a booster for a sure fire on the first try.

short5 wrote in post #11049683 (external link)
Though I believe the last stocks of explosive grade fertilizer have been bought up. The new configuration is made so it won't boom good. Ammonium nitrate for industrial use is still available with an explosive license.

The guys who put on the machine gun shoots at places like Knob creek bought a lot of it to make exploding targets before it became unavailable.

Actually, any one with the need to use can get AN without a license....it's the AN + other stuff mixtures that require a license to get or manufacture into the finished product (like ANFO).

That stuff is still be available.:) I think though that there are restrictions on purchase....maybe requiring a license....not sure though.

Well....off to work for a bit. :D
