A hawk just swooped in and tried to get birds at the feeder right outside the door. I heard a bunch of scattering and birds crashing into the house while they escaped so I looked up just as the hawk swooped through and landed on the bench 3 feet from the open door. There is a screen but he was SO close for a few seconds, really cool.

7D arrived. Can't wait till the battery charges. Looks nice! A bit unhappy about the way the Amazon reseller handled the product, though... It came in a box for a 28-135 kit. Apparently the separate the lens from the camera in the kits and sell the lens separately. Everything that's supposed to be there is there, but it's a bit dishonest.

A bit shady for certain. That also brings up the question of if this is a bona fide US product or if you ended up with a gray market body that is going to be an issue if you need warranty work somewhere down the line.

Of course, it is your fondest hope you never need warranty work to begin with. Either way, it is a great camera and I hope it performs flawlessly for you. Go shoot a duck!

I would certainly write the seller an email and complain. It isn't a ver clean way of doing business.

Exactly what I'm doing ;-)a I may be able to do a quick test in the coming days, but won't be able to really use it as I'd like for a loooong time though :-(

I was the same with the 5D, it was a week before I got to use it at all.

Even then it is not allowed here and she would not snatch it.

I had a type a OCD couple I was ready to kill. I often got clients that would be nervous wrecks about deciding stuff but this woman was the worse. She actually printed out pictures of leaves and flowers from plant in the design and papper clipped them to paint swatches ajj over fretting that the colors wouldn't work. Now I can see that a bit with flowers but the leaves? They are green, and not always the same green as you seen online or as printed.

Jasper wouldn't snatch it up either, but would hover knowing that most likely it will be his. If I dropped a T-bone, it would still be mine. ;)

Wow, that is very OCDish, probably worse than any I have dealt with. I find the worse is when both partners are just as bad as each other in the decision making arena. Off hand I know of 3 couples in 15 years that were extremely bad, including the ones I am dealing with now. One set I actually threatened to fire if they never got their act together. And the funny thing is, all these customers were very nice people, just could not make up their minds.

It is rare that a deal that beats all deals is on the up and up. I often spend a little more but I can't be bothered with bargain hunting too much. If I am ordering something rather than buying at a store, like I normally do, I tend to buy from one of the big reputable camera outlets like B&H. I usually do a search and look at one of the sites that lists all the sellers and prices. Usually most the listings are the same and then there are a few cheaper ones, then there are the very cheap obvious scams. I buy from one of the places that all have the same price. All the other ones always have a hitch.

I hope it is all good Mike.

Chet, random trivia...they took the phosphates out of Cascade here now too. So much for getting decent dishwasher detergent in PA.

G'mae all. Deeds, can't wait to see what you turn out with your new toy!

Cat, shhhhh, I snuck Sasha a pizza crust the other night. In my defense, I put it in her dish?

Do I need to send you care packages of Cascade now? Hope you are all feeling better

Cool, could you see what type of hawk it was?
