Maggie & Gracie were taking notes when you were here apparently. Whenever I tell them to tuck in, one of them hops in the bed and the other one tucks in the blankies. Somewhere they missed your meaning.

:lol:It is all in the tone ;)

Question for anyone here with Smugmug....are you still able to link your avi's from Smuggy? I keep getting "Invalid URL" in my UserCP when I try to change the avi to a linked one in Smuggy. Doesn't matter the size I copy for the link. None work. I don't know if the problem has to do with the avi's in the gallery being a large sized thumbnail which makes the image look blurry and pixelated. They are not even displayed actual size in the gallery. I haven't changed any settings in the past for that gallery and one day I noticed the thumbnail size difference. I am at a loss on what's going on. I even deleted the gallery and re-uploaded them all again. Still the same.

Dunno, does this work?

Honestly, I have REALLY slacked in this venture too
I still have the same 195 some-odd photos uploaded, but have not had any sales since the first two I got last year. Though, several of my shots get clicked on for closer inspection...but a no go on sale. Or at least none have cleared recently.

I need to get back into my previous routine of uploading 5 to 10 shots every few days to have better chances at getting a sale.

There are many success stories everywhere of people making quite a bit of money on Alamy or a microstock site, but of course you have to have those shots that they are looking for. Shots that sell the most are with people in the shot doing something. Many of Zane's shots, especially the protest ones, would be good candidates for this. Especially on Alamy because that site deals mainly with photos to be used in editorial aspects...or textbooks...which do not require a model release. They do have a commercial section which of course a model release would be required, but I have not gone that route yet. I may if I use my sis and cousins for shots...never know.

I never got anywhere with them because of their upload requirements. Maybe I look again. I have thousands of protest shots from the 20D and 30D but I seem to remember those files were too small:roll:

Hi bye Jenn! :D

I was just looking at the shots taken during Samuel's Baptism in Lightroom. The shots I took are okay and need minor WB and/or Exposure adjustment. All the shots I am in during the ceremony taken by my SIL are OOF, slanted to the right, under exposed or way too bright in the foreground due to the flash firing and reflecting off a near person leaving us dark in the background :(. I know I showed her how to focus the camera and not to take a shot until she saw the red square blink...but man, most shots are focused on the wall behind us or a few times, on someone in front of her which is over 10 feet from us in the ceremony. I wanted to have my sister take the photos with the 40D, but SIL insisted that she do it (control freak really). I am not gonna delete any though because they are pretty much the only shots of the event besides the video taken by sister and BIL with two different cameras.

As a matter of fact it does. I like the expression at 6 to 7 seconds.

Yeah, the upload file size has been decreased to 24MB uncompressed in Photoshop. http://www.alamy.com …hive/2010/05/24/4819.aspx (external link)

I used to have to always slightly increase the pixel size with the 40D files because they are under the previous requirement of 48MB file size. Now I can use native 40D files and even slightly crop so long as I don't go below 24MB uncompressed as shown in Photoshop. :D The 20D and 30D are on the recommended camera list here: LINKY (external link)
Although, if you have shots that you cropped heavily, they wouldn't work of course.

How the hell do you get a 48mb photo file? For that matter, how the hell do you get a 24mb file? The only files I ever have that big are the unedited .tifs coming out of Lightroom into Elements. Finished .jpgs run anywhere from 3 to 10mb as a rule.

Thinking about going Here (external link) one day. Would morning or evening be better?

If you're not already using it, I suggest you get the Photographer's Ephermeris (external link). It's a free app that shows the times of sunrise and sunset as well as the direction and altitude of the sun and moon at any time of the day. You'll have to install the Adobe AIR application first, but that's available at the same link.

I've never tried to link an AVI from smuggy or anywhere. I didn't think that was possible. I have a folder on my HD and load them from there.

That's what I do...

Pfffft :p *dangles crab legs in front of Dragon with way more food issues than my olive phobia*

I am working on the olive thing. Well so far just in my head, I have not met with any actual olives. I will learn to love the olive if you learn to love the sea bug, deal?
