Portraits: Round 2!

I took some pictures and posted them up a few weeks ago, and the feedback I got was too dark, flat flash, focus point missed, blurry....so I took the feedback and shot some more!

These are MUCH better than the first set you showed.

1. I feel is a good shot, but not great. It has beautiful background bokeh, which juxatposed with the texture of the tree trunk, is REALLY nice. Your subject is nicely lit, although in my eyes could be bumped up in highlights or exposure. The not great part has to do with perspective and posing (which I'm awful at as well). Her arm looks a little big in contrast to her face - not really as flattering as it should be.

2. I think is a good shot - beautiful natural expression. On my monitor, it looks just a SHADE blue, and it feels like you could bump up exposure to brighten her face just a smidge. Also, I'm mildly distracted by the cleavage area.

looking much better. Shot #2 is my fav out of the set and shot #1 has great bokeh and nice sharpness at f/1.8. I need to use my nifty fifty more often, i forget how great of a lens it is.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna learn how to start using photoshop to make my pictures pop and also learn how to pose people.

These look a hundred times better than the last set. The white balance is slightly cold in the second, but it's not so far off that it bothers me. In my opinion, there is some creative flexibility in white balance and it doesn't always have to be spot on.

Both of these look much better I like them.
