Macro with 50mm 1.2+Extension Tubes

I've been thinking about picking up a macro lens,but a few days ago thought about maybe using extension tubes with what I already have, such as my 50mm 1.2. Just curious if anyone has done that in the past, what are the effects like ? I would imagine I would lose two stops but not entirely sure. If anyone has experience with this from the past, feel free to drop a line. Any pros and cons are welcomed.

As are rule, extension tubes work well with most prime lenses including the 50mm f/1.2..

Look for extension tubes which allow full communication between lens and camera..

Both Canon and Kenko make good sets..

which ones would that be ?
