It's not...don't worry...seriously, I was comparing D90 vs. 7D vs. D3100 samples (all straight RAW conversions) from imaging-resource...the noise level all look identical at ISO3200, ISO6400, and ISO12800...the only slight difference is how the Canon makes reds look silly and the red speckles in the chroma noise is pronounced. Everything else is even and the only differences is how each camera is handling NR for SOOC shots. If you shoot mostly SOOC, then maybe it matters, but otherwise the camera comparison is a wash. I expect the D7K to match the D90 and D3100 in ISO performance...no reason to expect a noticeable difference, IMO.

Ah maybe thats why..

Though i admit fully, My post processing tends to favor more noise than blurring detail...something i can forget

I am there...That's why I shoot RAW...in-camera NR usually blurs beyond my ability to forgive...

I still have my pre-order with Adorama. I will not go to a Best Buy today or throughout the weekend so I can avoid temptation. ;)

Dont lie. The gravitational pull of the dark side will be too strong. :D

I really want this camera, as I'm looking for something lightweight (my 5dII stays home a lot more than when I had a rebel).

But After using FF for so long, I picked up a D90 and looked through the viewfinder, it feels like I'm looking through a pinhole! For those who use both, is it hard to transition or not really?

"You can view full resolution samples of the shots above from ISO 100 to ISO 6400. Please do not expect D700/D3 like high ISO performance from the D7000, but do expect it to be better than the D90 throughout the ISO range."

Very interesting, wheres Chase Jarvis lol.

Hello same complaints as the 7D for the EXACT same reason

D7000 is NOT the best choice for landscapes, no APS-C is, You're not going to get OMG UBER SHARP out of it usually :/

His test was mostly done at night too, Not a fair test for this camera...No matter what he says I think he's still subconsciously comparing it more to the D700, Even if he says he's NOT comparing it to the D700...And f/8...Eh...im torn on thatI use f/8-f/11 on my 7D a bit, f/8 can improve things a bit on my 7D with some lenses...

That said the photos look decent to me, RAW files will likely look a lot nicer
