i want an upated one from canon. or better yet, a non-L FF version dang it.. a 24/2 with USM. I don't use it often enough to justify the L, but it sure would be nice to have.

There is an updated 24L Mark II already. But yeah, Canon have all these older non-L wide angle primes that are way overdue for updates. A 35mm f/2 Mark II with the build and AF of the 85mm f/1.8 would be awesome. 35mm is my favorite focal length, but I'd definitely take a look at a 24mm f/2 Mark II if it were built to those specs.

The conversion doesn't work in camera pricing structure. I think others have already established that it doesn't....

If you're not used to comparing Euro/British prices with U.S. prices, here's a general rule of thumb: U.S. price will be close to 1-to-1 in terms of number, not currency value. So if a lens is £1000, believe it or not it's usually around $1000 in the States. Weird, I know, but that's how it is.

damn no 60fps... otherwise i very featured filled camera from nikon, even 100% viewfinder.

Ummm... I just looked at the D7000at DpReview finally (back from work). It's wicked. 9 cross type, raw/jpg writable across cards, near or at 100% viewfinder!

Wow Nikon.

I was planning on getting this but I did a 180 and bought an Olympus Pen. Just not enough over the 7D to justify it so I went with something more portable to compliment my 7D.

In football terms, you are like that all-too-common scrub LB that runs in to jump on a pile of players 5 seconds after the whistle is blown and the play is dead...and then you are the last one standing there jawing at the RB, trying to force your way onto somebody's highlight reel...yeah, I know yer game, bud...

Actually I made the initial tackle, my teammates piled on, and I'm here at the bottom of the pile with you kicking you in the groin by accident while trying to get up Sorry, I know it's no fun to have somebody lay it on after the point has been made. I didn't see that somebody had already replied to further explain my initial comment, otherwise I wouldn't have piled on.

But back to the D7000--alotta camera for $1200. Nikon again proves that you can cram a bunch of awesome features into a pricepoint that too many Canon fans seem to think impossible.

You guys should meet at the flagpole after 4th period and settle this like proper 8th graders.

I switched from Canon to Nikon. Nikon still has a lot of work to do to catch up to Canon in the prime department.

I'm seriously considering the D7000 as a "telephoto" body, because it will be light and easy to bring with me on trips (along with my D3s)... I'll probably wait till the D400 comes out though. That will probably be better than a 1DIV.

LOL think about it.

The D400 will only lack in the body construction and FPS over the 1DIV I tellz ya.

Where's the D5100? Or will it be called the D6000?

You were planning on getting the D7000 and decided not enough over the 7D but instead got the Oly Pen. All this before the camera even came out?
