So has anyone ever heard of what happened in 1997 over the skies of Phoenix, AZ? Apparently, there were over 10,000 Arizona residents who witnessed this strange extraterrestrial lights hovering over the 'South Mountain' in Arizona. I would love to see pictures of this epic event if anyone has any?! I hope someone can show us some images. If not, it was worth a shot to ask.

In 1997 I lived very close to South Mountain Park, actually within walking distance. About 8:30 PM, I remember the time because I had just watched Seinfeld, my wife and I were leaving to go to my daughters condo not far away.
We headed down the street towards South Mountain, when I noticed a formation of lights in the sky coming over the mountain, in a vee shape. The shape of the lights just seemed odd so we pulled over and got out to get a better look.
The lights moved slowly, and there was absolutely no sound. As I remember there were about 6-8 lights in a vee formation. As I watched I saw the lights appear to bank over (in unison), like a plane would when they turn, and it headed towards Tucson. The lights had been observed all the way up to northern Arizona earlier that night and tracked southward.

That same night, about 10 PM there was a second event, which was later proven (although some claim it wasn't proven) to be the Maryland National Guard dropping flares over the Goldwater Gunnery Range.

I didn't have a camera with me, unfortunately.

It's a lens not a lense!

That's the thing that kills me. All these UFO (not saying it's alien, just unidentified) events happened before the proliferation of digital cameras.

Maybe that's why there are no longer any UFO sightings. Everyone and their grandma have 12, 15, 18, 21mp cameras with super-duper lenses to debunk everything these days.

One would've thought that with so many eye-witnesses... someone... not even one of them, had a good camera and lens. :(

The whole flare theory is a joke. Flares don't behave the way the lights did on the video and they sure as heck don't last that long. I dont know what happened that night, but I have a friend who lives in Phoenix that had just gotten out of the Air Force and was waiting to start his gig as a commercial pilot. He swears to this day that everyone in his neighborhood saw a triangular craft attached to the lights...
