We just took a trip to Thailand and got an inexpensive waterproof bag for my 50D and thought I would try it out. I started with it in the pool and shot these photos of my kids. Learn that a weight belt would be a good idea. :) Had a ton a fun with the family here are a few samples.

Wow trusting an underwater bag, I admit that would be tough for me :)

Can we see pics of the rig? Nice pics btw.

very nice pics for an underwater bag. National camera has them for around a 100 and ive thought about it, but questioned IQ and of course the safety issue.

I have a picture my daughter took with her point and shoot. The camera worked well and was totally safe. I started with testing it in the sink then the tub then the pool then the ocean. I too was very cautious with it but found it to be totally water tight and work well for the price. I was pleased with the way that it worked it is not a perfect solution but did great it is only waterproof to 5 meters. More than enough for the beach snorkeling and so on.

Here are some others shots with the camera I noticed no loss of image quality shooting through the bag it has a high quality UV filter on the front of the lens.

Here is a shot of my son while in the Ocean.

OK, I'm super-jealous. I want to do this! Time to go shopping for a bag!

So would I. One leak (which you would most likely not notice) and a whole bunch of money down the drain! :( Nice pics though!

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

Thanks for the comments. I agree about the scared part I was constantly checking the equipment for leaks and so forth. Every time before I used it I would check the bags for leaks as well. It held up really well and I was quite pleased with it.

I wonder how they rate the bag. It is rated for so many uses?

It really was not stressing and I felt totally comfortable with the equipment in the bag. There is no rating to how many uses or anything but I feel that if you properly care for this piece of equipment it can last you a long time as there is really nothing too major that could go wrong with it. I really enjoyed using it and look forward to future opportunities to use it.
