Just been out and shot these - I have tried before but never had a tripod and now I do.

I am quite happy with the HDR result but now I need to know what to do next in photoshop to get it looking good

Is it possible to get a great looking photo just using photoshop cs5? I have no idea with lightroom and camera raw.

I need a kind of list and even base settings for the next step.

Sharpening, Levels, Curves, Noise Reduction, Dodge and Burn.

I have limited and basic knowledge of some of these.

I think I can do levels, dodge and burning but correct sharpening and curves?

Enough of my blag, I need a workflow for photoshop after HDR in Photomatix

Random fact: Grandmother's from stoke as well...

You could do with maybe fixing the distortion with image 1 and grass is a little too green, and not sure about the flare.
As for lightroom, for me it makes allot of my PP allot less time consuming, so I start in lightroom for the colour correction tools as they are much more user friendly than photoshop and then move it into photoshop for the serious stuff.

I would probably do something like below as you like HDR.

I agree with Gail with respect to a reshoot.

It seems to me that you got the church at a bad moment. I would try a different time of day or get a hood for your lens to block out some of the glare. Then I would stand back and shoot it with a longer focal length so that you wouldn't have such a dramatic perspective that makes the building look like it's going to collapse on itself.

In the second, we have a field with two kissing trees at some distance. I guess it's a nice field, as fields go, but it's kind of undramatic. It would be improved nonetheless with the removal of the utility wires and contrail.

Not crazy about the distortion in the building.

Yeah the church was a pretty bad time, sun beating on it, I did shoot using a hood.

As for the angle and framing of the chruch, i dont think I can get it much better because there is a big board with notices on if i go any wider and a car park to the right (thats why its framed like that).

The church is for my brother as he wants a picture of it, and he seemed quite happy with the framing.

The field, I think is pretty rubbish myself. It was one of them, "drive passed and oooh a nice looking fielding".

I dont want the photos to look like hdr, i want a realistic look to them
