I've looked into thsi before bet never noticed it opening early enough.
According to the http://www.royalparks.org.uk …ark%20opening%20times.pdf (external link) Timetable, it opens from 7AM at the moment.

Isn't that to traffic using the roads? I thought you could gain entry on foot earlier?

Anyone going to Wetlands during next week?
Down the Plughole
London Wetland Centre, half-term week 2010
This new exhibition will take visitors on an extraordinary journey into a real sewer
pipe (never actually used for its intended purpose!). This exciting new exhibit tells
the story of what happens when we drain the bath, flush the toilet or use the
washing machine. As well as venturing down the plughole guests can also play a
fun interactive game to create a perfect wetland. You can explore the rest of the
new high-tech pond zone where you can operate the underwater camera or play in
a digital pond, to discover: small fish and minibeasts swimming past.

Just got in from my long weekend. Spent Fri/Sat packing & moving flats (just upstairs in the same building so not too bad, but still annoying) and then Sunday was up near Birmingham for a wedding. 4 day weekend but still didn't seem long enough.

Did get some nice shots of the wedding (the bride asked me to bring my camera along, I was planning on leaving it at home), so should have those online soon.

'twas a hard source, I;m trying out some configurations regardless if they are suitable for the subject or situation over the next couple weeks lol

18 cm reflector bear in that one, wanted to see how closer it would be to a beauty dish I would have added reflector in that image but I wanted to see transition from the light to the shadows as well.

another one, same source.

Nice stuff Sly, is this with your new elinchrom gear?

While out with the dog today I saw woman holding up a 550d and framing her shot using live view on the LCD as I got nearer I saw that the camera was set to Manuel, I approached saying that I didn't want to sound like I was interfering but it might be easier if she framed her shots using the viewfinder. I was told that she didn't really know how to use the camera and she always used a camera like that and she didn't want to mess about with the settings and point the camera and shoot, and with that she walked off with her friend. I wonder how her photos turned out?
Anyway here a few of mine from today.

People are funny. I had a guy come up to me at the wedding on sunday and ask me how to use his new camera. It was a new 5d II with a 24-105 attached...he couldn't figure out why the focusing was broken. It turns out he was using live view the whole time and didn't know that was manual focus only. He also had his mode dial set to Bulb :)

Morning! Felt like the middle of the night when the alarm went off this morning.
Mixed bag of weekend, 10km race and then footy on sat. Uploaded and tagged all the pix only to find out my recent upgrade to the software didn't work so now the search function doesn't work. Spent all Sunday trying to fix it before I gave up. Shame as this would have been a good race aswell. On the positive side 3 more baby bookings, so thats me booked up til xmas. Stereophonics tonight. Need a rest.

Good lord man! When are you hiring an assistant? ;)

Just accepted a job working for Tia Maria on Friday. Will be working in the VIP bar for the Britains Next Top Model Live show at the Excel.

Pay is OK,( it actually went up from what I expected when I confirmed, which was a nice surprise!) but I'm nervous due to the fact that I don't read the magazines or watch any shows that contain "celebrities". I think i may need a a spotter lol!

Thanks for taking my call by the way Rich-definitely made me see sense.

Now the important bit - must decide what toys to buy with the pay?

Woohoo! Nice one mate, that's brilliant. I wouldn't have a clue who the 'celebrities' are either, better watch a few episodes of the show to familiarize yourself (you can have the volume off if that makes it easier)

congrats on the gig Rob!

I can recommend a grip for the 5D mkII! (picked mine up on Saturday and I'm attatched already!)

Umm...I'm not sure that's where you're supposed to put the battery grip...

I think someone forgot to tell Canon that about the 5D MkII (external link).

LIVE VIEW MODE
Focusing Manual Focus (Magnify the image 5x or 10x at any point on screen)

Autofocus: Quick mode, Live mode, Live Face detection mode

I wonder if it depends which shooting mode you are in?
