A quick gadget question if I may - I am on the cusp of signing my life away on an iPhone4 - I guess I'm gonna get tied into a 24 month contract - as a non commuter (I don't need to watch films on trains etc), do I need a 32GB version, I'll predominantly be using it as an internet device, what sort of tariffs/usage are you folks using them on?

I'm currently thinking it's worth paying a bit more for the handset up front rather than get stung by a large monthly bill...

discuss :D

I'm on my 4th iPhone 3g and that is now nakered and on eBay.. After lots of review reading and questioning of mates in phone shops, HTC is the way forward!! The HTC HD7 looks the nuts and is running the new Windows phone software!

If you do still stick to the iPhone then the 16gb should do you fine!

Pretty sure Ian uses a HTC? Sure he'll have some input. My supervisors got a Samsung Galaxy S Android Phone too and loves it, prefered that over the iPhone.

A range evening with a few beers after would be a good laugh !!

I thinks it is seven years since I picked up a club so I would be able to provide comedy value:D:rolleyes:

This one is pricey but I keep drooling http://www.crumpler.co.uk …oduct_id=MDE390-002&size= (external link) I did get the large version once but it was too big and sent it back.

no date yet mate..

just be careful/aware when your walking along the street and always have your bag over your shoulder and over your head (so the strap is diagonal across your chest) as 3 of my friends now have been robbed/attempted robbed by people on motorcycles speeding past

A monopod would always come in handy / visual deterrent;)

I got the smallest iPhone 4, which is a 16GB I think. More than plenty enough for me as I just use it for Internet use and photos. I got the cheapest tariff too and paid a little more up front as I very rarely use it as a phone and very rarely text. Unfortunately you're stuck to 500Mb a month which is ok for general usage but I used to listen to Internet radio but it uses so much bandwidth that I can't anymore.

No matter what you pay for it you'll gaze at it in wonderment for hours as it's so beautiful and it'll be worth it :D

People are funny. I had a guy come up to me at the wedding on sunday and ask me how to use his new camera. It was a new 5d II with a 24-105 attached...he couldn't figure out why the focusing was broken. It turns out he was using live view the whole time and didn't know that was manual focus only. He also had his mode dial set to Bulb :)
...

Hmm.. Where is this guy? I'll do him a favour and swap my Ixus for his 5D...

ovely shot! Very cute.

I blame it the point and shoot camera non have a viewfinder any more just a LCD and they do everything for you so people expect expensive top of the range cameras to do the same.

For messenger bags have a look at the Crumpler (external link) range..............make sure you go for the size above the one you think your likely to need though......

I've got a Crumpler Muffin Top and I rate it even if maybe I do need a larger one now

The Ixus 100 does actually have a viewfinder. It's tiny but you can probably still use it when the sun is too bright for the lcd.

I had a look at some HD video on a 32 inch screen and it didn't look much better than the non HD digital cable broadcast.

Lee have a look at HTC's I've got the Desire with Orange 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £30ish. JD's got one as well so have a couple of others on here Ian is changing from the Desire to the Desire HD I think.

Now Orange and T Mobile have merged you can use your phone on the other network if you sign up for it.
Orange customers go here (external link) to sign up.

Adrian, I'm pretty sure Kevin has one of those. It's the same as mine, only slightly larger and of course made of Leather.

I really rate my crumpler although it's a little too small for my 2 body setup. Keep thinking of selling it, but not sure whether to part with it or not.

As far as IPhone tariffs go Lee, you get 2gb per month browsing with Vodafone. I bought the 32gb version as it gives some breathing room after a bit of music and for recording videos etc.

I pay 35 quid per month.
