Have you tried one of the many Card Recovery tools?

Four different programmes and a different card reader, it won't even display them on the camera LCD now..

Na, my Lexar one, less then a year old so will call them in the morning and see if they will sort me a new one!

Yes it was.. I have just e-mailed the lady who runs it and explained the situation and asked if it ok to make a return visit in a few weeks time! Fingers crossed she agrees..
