im at work doing the usual trawl through flickr and get gear envy and hypothesise about upgrading my gear

@ anyone who is bored/wants to contribute - hypothetically would it be worth swapping a 450D, sigma 30mm, sigma 10-20mm (4-5.6 version), for a 5D and a sigma 50mm ?

yes do it, your love FF, although I sold my sigma 50mm as I didnt like it, the 85 1.8 was great on my 5Dclassic

=Matt 'Photog' Peters;11166845]I've had a couple of hours to compose my self now so might try again after lunch!!

I am only trying to print one page of the labels in A4, the sheets are Ryman L7160.. The margines of the sheet match up perfectly to what is on the screen so I tere is no problem there.. What I can't get my head around is how it will print on a plain sheet and line up when holding the sheets together but then when the label sheet is inserted for printing its completly off, it just makes no sense?!

Thanks for your help so far & I/we will get to the bottom of the promlem I'm sure!!

Matt

Ok, then it might well be the printer. I think the code number you have given is the Avery code, so you are probably using the Ryman version?

I think what I would try next then is simply just change the type of paper being fed into the printer - if it doesnt have that particular label, just use a paper that has a setting with a different thickness to ordinary A4 paper as I would think from what you have said, its how its being fed through the printer causing the problem. Alternatively, if you can use an 'unspecified' paper type, try that to fool it.

Just check in the lable template though, under Page Set Up, then the Paper tab, then 'Print Options' that the template is using 'printer settings' in case there are some other settings in there that is confusing the printer.

Sorry I cant help any more than that.

Linda

I thought that about the canon version as well, then started to follow the sigmalux thread on potn which convinced me that it was the one to buy, its a great looking piece of glass, much nicer than the canon version but I just didnt like it, it didnt help that the first one I bought just wouldnt focus on anything so I sent it back, the next one was spot on with the AF but always seemed a soft at 1.4 - 1.8 so it sat in my cupboard doing nothing till I sold it. The 85mm on a 5Dc was great, just right, sometimes I wish I had kept it, if you do go for a FF then the 85 would be the one to buy, then get yourself a 135L f2 which is a brilliant lens as well

ah - thanks Mark - not just me then.

The canon 85 1.8 is much cheaper than the new sigma 85 1.4 isnt it. I just love that sigma build though. Wonder if my gear will be in demand too..anyone looking? lol

i think i might rent a 5D from here

"It's a sad day. Paul was rather special but we managed to film Paul before he left this mortal earth," said his agent, Chris Davies.

Probably because they didn't give him a perspex cube with a photo of headstone on it in order to accurately predict the result of the next 24 hours
