Just booked my flights to China in the new year. Spending a week with the missus and her family in Guangzhou and then 2 whole days in Harbin to see/shoot the ice festival. Can't wait!

that sounds awesome. Ive seen pics of that ice festival on boston big picture before. going for chinese NY?

No, won't be there long enough for CNY this time. The gf didn't want to pay extra for the flights around that time, so I'll be back in the UK on the 19th of Jan.

I heard mention of Charing Cross station, but nothing about a time. PM Lee (TCIK), he should be able to tell you.

I have just now but that's a very vague location if I have never been there or met anyone attending to recognize them.

Glad to hear you patched things up with the old lady Kev. Harbin is effing awesome - I only had a point & shoot then but still got good enough images for memories. Some truly amazing sculptures to be seen. I went on my own, much more fun with two of you I reckon!

Or pm Neil i think he will be there too there is A flickr London meet up if you are about on Saturday and oxford street is closed to traffic which may be interesting

nice mate! We posponed our trip too expensive for the flights etc during chinese new year, priority is housing buying at the moment. Gutted as I really wanted to do the ice festival!! Still time to change our mind though.....or win the lottery!

Not here Saturday will be in Oslo. If anyone knows more about the meet tonight please PM merge data roaming charges to post here are crazy!

I agree, except I'll be doing Harbin by myself. The gf laughed when I mentioned it and said "no way. Waaaay to cold!". I'm looking forward to testing out all of this Mandarin I've been learning at least.

Could lead to some interesting situations though. Last night I was practicing and told her to "turn to the right" and she thought I called her a small witch...

What ever happened to our POTN syndicate? Would could've already been millionaires

I think my return flight from Guangzhou was around £300 or so? I'm not sure, her family insisted on paying for that part of the trip for me.
