Nice pictures everyone.

For those who gave their best wishes, thought i would let you know that Holly had surgery today and is now without an appendix. She is doing fine, but they have also taken a biopsy from her ovary to check for any further problems there. According to the Surgeon her appendix was on the verge of rupturing so she was pretty lucky.

Thanks again for your kind words and support.

Not had chance to go through the thread, and not going to this connection is very slow plus i'm trying to upload some photos at last, but only doing a few if it works as it's taking that long :( In a proper remote area of KRabi at the moment in some bamboo huts...

From reading that Rob though, glad shes OK Rob.. :)

I think the boats to the bird sanctuary only operate during breeding season between May-July (which coincides with better weather). I looked at going for a day when I drove up to Scotland in August but the weather was pants. Planning to go next June/July next year though - another POTN meet?

FYI theres a dozen operators leaving from Seahouses for day trips so take your pick. I spotted this link earlier in the year but there are others: http://www.farne-islands.com/boat-trips/index.htm (external link)

Cool, I think Chris went there a couple of years ago - hopefully he'll be able to give you some tips as to good shooting spots.

It's a wonderful place, you'll have a great time. I met William Cheung, the ex-editor of Photography Monthly magazine.

My biggest tip is to go for the Billy Shiel's boats, the link you have above as that's the one all the photographers go for as you get the most time on the Island. Oh, and take a hat! You get so much time on the islands that you can pretty much explore the whole thing and they are all stuffed to the gills with birds right from the steps of the docks.

Managed to catch the starlings coming in to roost under Eastbourne PIer tonight ... they warmed themselves first on the top of the dome - then flew under the pier for the night. I'm just posting a couple of video clips on flickr too ... they are just amazing. And the NOISE! Wonderful :D:D:D
...

Lovely shots, Clare.

Morning all - snow has fallen in Lydd but I'm feeling too lazy to go out as I've been watching the Ashes all night :) Had a quick skim through the pages I missed - seems that the pace on here has picked up of late. Some great pics - too many to mention but stuff from Clare, Lee and Victor was stunning. Work has been silly busy of late, doing a great job of keeping me away from here. I'm now back at home for the weekend to catch up with the family and cats and then off next week to finish a project I've been working on in Romania. As I will be there for 7 or 8 days straight (including the weekend) I am going to take the camera before I forget how to use it :)

Sorry Rob - had to read back to see this. Bad news then good news. Glad it all worked out - sounds like she is in good hands.
