they gave out awards for the following

the club with the highest scoring round in the last nine (The DAPA team got 42 out of 45 for the black and white round.)

The best picture in the entire comp ( one of Great notleys photos taken by Mark Edwards from the black and white round)

the overall winning team (Great notley) who also got presented a £3,000 cheque. I'm guessing everything else they will send in the post.

Edit

Reading the thing in the magazine, looks like weve won squat in that it's worded "The best overall monthly entry of them all will also win a £1000 voucher" next to a "win £5000 of Canon Kit" making sense in that it mean DAPA got £1,000 and overall Great Notley won £4,000 and we got squat

Aye its the best monthly one that won the £1000, I was surprised we weren't in the top 10 in the final standings.

Our win on the last month defo had the most crowd response as the presentation was a bit boring just looking at pics with no input from the guy presenting, so when Chris's came on you could hear people go "WTF, oh ,ermm yeah great shot" then right after Vic's came up, one guy goes "Thats a landscape not architecture", Matts was first up on the board with no comments from anyone really just as they did with the other 30 odd pics that were shown. Neal talked to everyone with a Canon T-Shirt / DSLR mag and the odd waiter about Chernobyl and Rich is now on the CPS blacklist ;)

Well hopefully Ian, Neal or Kevin would take up the task if it had!

I was/am sick, so didn't go unfortunately :(

Swaffs wrote in post #11424836 (external link)
Mike, you got two pages just about you@ sandwich. Moss rose pic across both pages plus ice cream pic.

Brilliant news. I don't normally buy this mag (subscribe to photography monthly and am about 5 months behind in reading), but will definitely pick up a copy in Jan :)

Well done Neal for chasing up the Chernobyl article :)

Just wish I was allowed to take my camera.....really nice sunset with interesting clouds coupled by red smoke from flares and a little fire. Big Ben looks really good in late afternoon light as well

Oh, who's on twitter? I must admit I'm not very good at keeping up with that!

Neal, Rob, Kevin and Sylvester are. Probably more, forgive me if I can't remember.

Would be good to get more on there.

I'm back now too

I also gave a nudge about the Chernobyl article to the editor to DSLR user while i was there too, so something may happen.

That would be good, fingers crossed!

Ah, I guess looking at how you have described it there I mis-read the initial prize chart  It did look like there were monthly prizes...Sorry for the confusion chaps and the false sense of excitement...

Still, we'll just have to do better next year then! ;)
