Does anyone have suggestions for a backpack that fits a gripped body? I also need it to hold a laptop, 3 lenses and a flash. Obviously it needs to fit accessories, cables and cards.

I use a Crumpler Karachi Outpost, which can hold my gripped 7D or 5D II. The large, which is what I have, can hold a 17" laptop. I believe the medium holds 15" laptop.

I used to have a Crumpler Whickey and Cox that would easily fit all of that... I believe that range has been renamed since then, though - either way, Crumpler backpacks are well worth a look for their quality.

Yeah, I understand the new Crumpler Karachi Outposts were originally the Whickey & Cox.

Lowepro has a ton of backpacks to hold a laptop and camera. I would just check out their site to see which size fits all the rest of your gear. I have couple of their backpacks and I'm pretty happy with them. I have the Flipside 400 which will hold a gripped body but no laptop.

A good company that is still growing is MRock. I have an Mrock backpack (The Zion) and can fit a gripped 7D with 70-200 f/4 with 1.4x TC in it and still have tons of room left over. I think the Zion would fit your needs well. My brother has a Kata backpack that fits his gripped body and 70-200 pretty well too, but I'm not sure what model it is.

I have been more than pleased with the Think Tank HD Streetwalker I purchased earlier in the year. To my eyes its one of those game changing purchases, same as when I bought my Gitzo tripod!

I have a small review on my blog, if your interested, which is listed below.

Cheers

Simon
