Avocet in the NJ Medowlands Dekorte Park

I was in the meadowlands the other morning trying out my new lens..
As I was leaving, several people were coming in: very excited about the Avocet. I was asked if I got any pictures of it. I had no idea that there was a special bird there, and I had never heard of an Avocet; but I thought I would share the link with the birdwatchers here:

LOL ... that's the largest avocet I've ever seen :) Nice image, though!

BTW, if you enjoy bird photography, head south to the EB Forsythe National Wildlife Refuge in Oceanville (Atlantic County). It's a beautiful place to just drive around, but also a great bird photography spot.

I guess. my note wasn't clear :)

I didn't know there was an Avocet and made not attempt to take a shot of it.. There was a nice swan though.. :)
