With the kids starting preschool this week I have three hours a day to myself:D

I'm going to try a DIY beauty dish and have a quick question.

I know to use white on the inside, for better relection, but do I use Glossy, flat, matte????

I searched all the DIY BD threads and couldn't find an answer. I would think glossy so it reflects more but then I'm wondering about hot spots.

Thanks for any help,

Eric

Why not hedge your bets and go with a vinyl silk :)

Seriously, most white beauty dishes have an enamelled sort of finish. Assuming you're using metal paint, just get whatever you can. Won't make any real difference.

Hey Eric, I made a beauty dish a couple of weeks ago.I managed to find a white plastic bowl for under $5. It has a glossy finish to it.

I've made several DIY beauty dishes. After trying a variety of spray paints, I've decided my favorite is this one:

It dries to a smooth luster finish that's quite durable.

By the way, if your tool arsenal includes a Dremel, this is one of the best DIY BDs:
