thanks guys, yeah you know whats great is the fact i could select 1/60th, if it were with a regular point n shoot it would have been 1/200 prob and i would have lost that blur. More to come!

I like the swing shot as well. Really cool. Most folks with a point and shoot would have hit the high shutter speed. You nailed it.

But that ride scares the crap out of me. I'll go on any rollercoaster, but that thing? I worry I'd go flying through the air and land on a concrete path.

Thank you. bw!

The S95 packs away nicely. I biked 2 miles off road this morning and it was very wet from raining in the night, then 10 miles on the paved Trace.
Not bad for someone who's pelvis was broken in four places almost this time last year.

Well, it doesn't quite match my 1DMKIV for action shots, but it is somewhat capable of panning and AI-Servo focusing!

I have had my S95 for a month or so. It's taken that long of constant use to work out how to use it and get it set up for what I need. It's not perfect but I'm loving the pictures it takes.

LIKES: The very best thing about the S95 is the size. It allows me to keep it with me when I go to work and I try to take images every day. Custom setups - really good including 'C' settings. Video Quality is great. Battery is good IMHO.

DISLIKES: Can be a bit tricky with my big fingers and thumbs. Macro is not the best. F2 only obtainable with lens fully open at 28mm = which gives an 'unreal look'. Which setting stays on which mode = all a bit confusing.

I would not recommend it for a beginner as there are so many options it would just confuse them. Here is my opening gambit. Victoria London. B/W with curves pushed.

BR Alex

you can use it as a beginner. i'd highly recommend it to a beginner. hell, i am a beginner.

there is an auto mode and a scenic mode which i believe is also set to auto.

by no means am i an expert or anything, but the virtue with an s95 is that it helps the user to grow into manual controls, which is exactly what it did for me.

also, f/2.0 wins. hands down. if you need a more realistic view, move closer to the target =]
