I wonder if it is this camera that's this good? or could other point-and-shoot cameras do this if it was so easy to control the settings while shooting in "M" ?

I literally went from the camera shop straight to the beach. Didn't even read the manual and just fired photos off in different modes, RAW and jpg. The ring dial for + or - EC really came in handy on the beach. I even tried the beach mode and it worked super well. The RAW's didn't even require much fixing in post, the S95 got the exposure almost perfect every time. Here is a gallery of photos I took yesterday with my brand-new S95: http://www.cyclingcaptured.com …y-Hook-South-Beach-912011 *cameras: Canon 1D Mark III | Canon 1D Mark II | Canon 1D "Classic" | Canon S95

I have been going around the town where I live and have taken a few photos. I am still a beginner and hope, by having joined this forum, to learn as much as there is to learn. There are some awesome photos here displayed. Wow..... I am grateful for any tips, hints, suggestion, even critizism is welcome. How did you get that effect? Thanks! Canon 5d Mark II, Canon S95.

I read most the reviews and checked out many of the pages on this thread. Yet I still don't know if it is a good bang for the buck. I really want a small compact to carry along. Right now I'm stuck with an iPhone 4 camera for when my 60D is just to inconvinient... decisions... has anyone ever got the s95 and then regretted shelling out the $360ish, any one felt that the money could have been better spent going towards a lens or something else?? Frozenfire, I was in exactly the same situation, complete with 60D and iPhone 4. I've had my S95 for a couple weeks now, and I love it. No regrets at all in buying it, and in fact I'm happy enough with it that I'm sending my 60D off to Canon for a couple minor repairs, and I know that the S95 will serve me well during the 2 weeks I'm without my dSLR. Go get the S95. The image quality is light-years ahead of any phone camera, and you will have the manual controls that will enable you to do much more. Don't get me wrong - the iPhone 4 is a great phone camera for when you really haven't brought anything else with you (i.e. last resort), but it won't hold a candle to the S95. The larger sensor and lens make a huge difference! • Wedding Photographer - Sydney and Wollongong

One of the newbie post I found on this forum just click for me lol. The pictures attached were used while on Manuel or AV mode (not sure since I swear I took over 50 picture trying figure out the f stop etc). First time user of those mode, so please forgive me if they are not that great.
