Hiking Up Deer Brook Gorge

There was one rock wall and one brook ford after another up this steep route.
Exciting and humbling.
Humid and rain-slick.
This is in the Adirondacks btw, somewhat southeast of Keene Valley.

Nice picture and composition. My only request is how did you manage to talk her into carrying some of the equipment? :-)

Well, its my sister and I was having a bad day.
So she volunteered to take some of it off my back.
A bit of a saint really...
This whole hike was photographically challenging because it was dark in the gorge with bright overcast like spotlights down the middle.
I shot this at high ISO to get some shutter speed and then had to process quite a bit to get the highlights and shadows back into the picture.
Made for some really dramatic pictures when they weren't total misses.
