Hey guys, can you please critique the goods and bads of the photos that I recently took in the city? I was kind of disappointed on the lack of feedback that I got last time I posted here because I am currently making a portfolio (for school) and the theme that I want to project in my portfolio is about people and people being in their natural environment and showing natural emotions. Most of these shots were taken at hip level so please bear with me with some of the crooked photos; I tried my best to keep it straight. Hope you guys will enjoy these photos and don't forgot to give your two cents into it. Wish I can post more photos though... T-T

btw, if I do have a certain theme in my portfolio, is it alright to have 1 or 2 photos that digress from the theme?

#1 - I like it, but the advertisement really detracts. She's kinda dark, but it seems to fit.
#2 - no one want's to see the guy's butt in this kind of photo
#3 - I really like this. Would be better without the guy walking away in the near background. Maybe crop without so much foreground

The last one is great and really seems to capture your mission statement.

#1 could tell a story, and is the best of the bunch to me. The rest seem to say "I didn't want them to see me" since most of them were of people's backsides, which is generally less effective... though I know the feeling as I do it often, too.

1 2 3 and 8 are really good shots, they have that kinda of natural feel, as said further up sometimes peoples back views, no matter how well shot can be a little uninteresting, and I don't think they carry the same theme you have done really well to capture in the others.

Good works all around and good conversion in 4, a really sweet image, A+

d

There ain't gonna be enough time to capture all the beautiful thing in the world, but I'm getting them one by one...

#'s 1,5,& 7 are nice.

#1 - nice angle but could be a bit brighter.
#5 - best of the two holding hands but seems a bit unbalanced ( which is ok to me)
#8 - best of your whole set. Very spontaneous and natural feel to it.

Good work.

A Camera in the hand is worth two at the house.
