Photo Printers MP640 vs IP4700

Hi All,

I have done a search and turned up some good results, however im after opinions on the following;

I would like to print photos, and are looking at the canon ip4700 and mp640. My questions are;

1. Will these offer comparable quality to cheap photolab prints? ie am I expecting to much from the printer and the only real option for this quality is the 9000/9500?

2. From the spec list the ip4700 and mp640 have the same resolution, the same ink cartridges and the same print rates, can I assume that the print quality for photos is the same? (mp640 is twice the price of ip4700 here in Aus and I dont need scanner wifi etc)

I use an IP4200, a slighter older model I know, but the results with Canon paper & ink is 1st class.

I use the MP640, tonal rendition and sharpness are up there with the bigger more expensive models, and the scanner is excellent.
