Between a B+W MRC Kaesemann and a Hoya HD it's personal preference. I use B+W across the board, personally.

Hi Jon,

B+W cost about $33 more than the Hoya on Maxsaver, just don't know which to get.

Kaesemann's supposed to be somewhat better than a straight CPL; most of my polarizers are regular, non-Kaesemann CPLs, so the cost is a wash between the Hoya and B+W versions.

Some Hoya polarizers are prone to coming apart unexpectedly, and their coatings have been reported as difficult to clean. My recommendation is to get the B+W.

Thanks, if that's the care then it worth the extra $33.

Not a problem. Also, with the B+W filter you have the availability of brass rings as well (with the exception of their slim versions). Just read the filter description closely...the F-Pro MRC model would be the one to get.

Ok thnx.
In my thread someone recommended me the Kaesemann model.Which one would u recommend?
What I want is as less vignetting as possible. I'm gonna pair it with the 17-55..

Generally, the Kaesemann model is a few dollars more than the non-K. If you're okay with the K price, spend the extra for the K version. But either one will be fine.

The F-Pro model (K or non-K) won't vignette on the 17-55...it doesn't even vignette on the EFS 10-22 for that matter.

Call www.2filter.com (external link) and ask them there to give you advice and what you get for your money with each brand. They also have what I've found to be the best prices in the country. I get all my filters from them, and also recommend the B + W's over the Hoya's.

I agree with this. Theres little to no difference in high end CPLs. They all work very well. IF there is even a difference, its so minimal you probably wouldn't notice even if you went looking for it.

I chose to use B+W and all the filters I have are from them. Definitely a personal preference thing.

Except for the ones that come apart in your hands...that difference is very noticeable. :D;)

I never used Hoya filter so have no opinion on it, but I am very satisfied with the B+W CPL.
