Recorded some video on my 7D, bought the mini HDMI cable and hooked the camera up to the HDMI input port on the television, made sure the correct port was selected on the television to accept the signal, turned the camera on....and nothing. The screen on the television says no signal, and the LCD screen on the camera goes from playback mode to black.

Anyone know whats up here?

I have tried it on two different TV's, with two brand spankin' new cables with the same result. I've been searching around and I'm not the only one who has had this problem but like those people I haven't found a solution. This really sucks!

From the moment that you connect your camera to the TV set you can't see the images
on the LCD in the camera anymore.

In the camera you have to set the playback options. See page 170 and further in the
manual.

Make shure the HDMI cable is the correct one. There are many cables and they don't
work with every equipment.

RMA = Return Material Authorization. That is a form you need to ask from your supplieyer
in case you want to send in the camera.

Good luck...

Thanks. It may very well be the cables I'm using. I'm going to the Shack to get exactly what the manual calls for and see if that does the trick.

Hi, did replacing your cable ever fix this problem? I have this problem as well. I got 2 cables from monoprice which dont seem to work on my 7D. I did try the cables on my brother's T2i and it works on his camera.

Did you ever get it worked out? I'm having the same problem with my Ti2?

I gave up on it and never tried anymore cables. The only way I can output video directly from the camera is with the supplied (Non HD cable).

Honestly, my computer is old and inadequate for video processing anyway, so I don't use the feature very much.

not entirely sure on your particular model, but isn't there an option in the menu to turn on/off what goes to HDMI out? I'd double-check and make sure you're actually outputting something.
