I like the treatment and the setting of #1. Have you thought about a square frame and lopping off the back half of that building? Just a thought. Nice image. I like the print tone. The sky and print tone are excellent.

Color for me.

In terms of discovering subtle dust spots, if you are using Lightroom, try pressing ALT or Option while moving the masking slider back and forth in sharpness setting. This is especially effective if you have plain background.

There is dust delete data in-camera function but for me, above is easier. However, nothing beats taking necessary precaution to keep the sensor clean.

Great Ghost Town pics from your site Anthony! I'm going to be in Barstow, California Sept. 18-24, are you familiar with any of the sites in that area, and which one would give the best opportunities?
Thanks!

Jackpot ... I would shoot Barstow as is because my guess is if you spent a day there you would likely uncover some fascinating subjects. You are a long day trip from Death Valley. If you have never been this is a golden opportunity bring lots of water and nice big comfortable hat. Best light is 5:30-6am ish dunes and Zabriski. Spend a couple of days if you can get space in the campground or motel there.

There appears to be a "Calico" ghost town just outside of Barstow heading East. Use a map and google to find interesting spots or wing it which always brings some kind of treasure some where.
