Second annual "Pitch Black Singletrack" here in Wisconsin which is a 12 hour cross country mountain bike race. Runs from 8pm to 8am and I just shot the first few hours. ;) Had trouble with my tripod so was a bit limited so I got some hand held flash shots on a climb and found a trail sign that I could set my camera on top of for some time lapse images. I carried a camping lantern around for light, and when I turned it off - yes, it was pitch black! :D The lights on the trails are head lamps, there were no stationary trail lights. You can see the Milky Way just above the trees on the first few, and while the last one is heavily over exposed in PP so you can see the meteor up in the sky that I caught! Lots of red dots across the images - dead pixels?

dead pixels?

Probably just hot pixels...it's a long exposure thing.

And great shots! Night riding is awesome.
