Great setup and they are not afraid to come near all that (haha). Is that a real flower in front of the feeder and are you in a blind or hiding near something? What is the purpose of the cardboard box and the painting (?) attachment to it? This gives me some ideas for next season.
Nice Vette that is my retirement car even though I'm a Ford man - Mustang Cobra.

Thanks for the comments.....:D.....they were a little skittish at first with the set-up but quickly adapted and doesn't seem to bother them at all now...

I've never used a blind for photographing the hummers. I'm setting about 12ft in front of the flower fully exposed.

The flower is real and is from the same plant hanging on the right.

The piece of cardboard is what I have my background print mounted on. The background print is an enlarged photo I took in my backyard...
When using this short duration flash technique, you have to have the bakcground evenly lit to make it work right...without a lighted background the hummer would be exposed but the background would be completely black.

Beauties as usual Jim. Now it's time to take your show on the road to SE Arizona and get these kind of shots of their beautiful hummers.

Regards,
Chuck
