Seeking Recommendations: Secondhand, Fast, Wide Angle Prime

I'm looking for a secondhand fast (f1.4 or less) wide angle (less than 30mm) prime lens to use on a full frame body. It can be any mount provided that it can be converted and manual exposure and focus is no problem. I don't anticipate using it frequently, so I don't want to fork out for a 24mm L or anything in a similar price range; definitely under $1,000.

Any recommendations?

I recently bought a like new 24L Mark 1 for 525 Euro, which is ~670 USD, so it is possible. Keep an eye on Ebay (or whatever marketplace you're using) and move fast when an opportunity arises, but be prepared to wait one or more weeks.

Whelp I dont think that is going to happen either, take a look at the EF prime lens list and you will see why.

You MAY be able to find a 24mm 1.4 Mark I for under $1000 if you search for a good long time and jump fast on potential lenses, haggle and settle on a price.

Your chances of that happening quickly are slim though.

Good luck.

Start by forgetting f/1.4.
I'd just get a Canon 28 1.8 or Sigma 24 1.8. Both have their up and downsides, but I personally really like my 28 1.8 on crop. From what I've read the Sigma 24mm 1.8 is pretty decent as well.

Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!

This is a tough or impossible find honestly. There's only a few 1.4 lenses wider than $30 and they're more than $1000.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I guess I was wondering whether (read: hoping) there was an old screw or OM mount lens or even some weird Soviet knock-off which might do the trick. There seems to be a good range of choice around the 50mm/f1.4 and at <= 30mm/f2.8 but nothing in what I'm seeking.

Hello Sigma? Are you receiving...?
