Q: Upgrading to "Prosumer" - what are the benefits?

Hi,
I currently have a Rebel XS...

Some searching around on the net has turned up some info that list the **D and the D**
models as "prosumer"

From what I can tell, they all seem to have the APS C sensor.
This means that I could still use my EF-S lenses with no magnification factor, correct?

What other benefits would I see from upgrading to a "prosumer" version?

It depends on what your trying to achieve. What subject matter to do you shoot and what conditions would be a help to a lot of people here to give advice

Canon doesn't have a D** model, they have **D and *D.

The **D series and the 7D have APS-C sensors. This means you can use your EF-S lenses on them. EF-S lenses will not even mount on a full frame camera. It will give the same field of view as your XS.

Other benefits would include:

-better AF
-more FPS
-more MP (great for doing cropping in post)
-better high ISO performance and higher ISO in general (XS probably maxes out at 1600, 7D can go up to 12,800)

Magnesium body, some sort of weather sealing, micro adjustment, utilize WFT (Wireless File Transfer). Just a few I can think of.
