When the pine nuts are ready here at the Canyon, these Jays come in flocks of 2-3 hundred. I have a bunch of pinyon pines in my yard full of cones. I hope to see some! Steve

Sep 07, 2010 22:46 | #6 Thank you, Steve! Yes, I didn't even see any Pinyon jays until they started coming in large flocks. There must have been around 200 birds on the trees. I could hear them from a distance, and didn't even know what the noise was... until they started invading the area. They are cool birds though. Sony A7r
