A view from on top of the Golden Bay cliffs, Malta. A sentry tower built under the Grand Master Juan De Lascaris-Castellar is visited by yet another sunset...

Comments on the framing and the silhoutte effect are what I'm really looking for!
Thanks for looking :)

The sky is lovely - I love the range of colours. The silhouette is ok, but too big IMHO.
The 'sentry is nice and geometric but I cant help what it would look like with a person on top. As it is it seems a little plain -
my 2c worth

cheers, Paul

The tower has clear, geometric lines, but there's nothing else in the picture to balance it out. I remember reading once an article here about keeping a photobank of clouds and photoshopping it in whenever needed. If you had larger clouds, with clearer edges, to put on the upper right hand corner, there would be more than one place for the eye to look.

Thanks for your comments.

I do suppose that a person in the picture would give a sense of scale - good pointer :)

Don't agree about the clouds business however. Not a fan of too much editing to be honest. pasting in parts of another picture that aren't there is just a no-no for me, besides I think that the clouds are quite nicely spread out and help with the 'calm' of this photo.

My reactions - This is all good feedback!!

Gave the pic a bit of a faded look. not sure if it works well therefore asking for advise here!

Not a big fan of the faded look - but that's personal. I think your framing is a little off. The main flower is in focus but I am 'dragged' to look at the flower behind it - its larger and its OOF. As it is the first flower is a bit 'lost'.

I think you need to have your main subject in focus and be the main object in the frame. Having other flowers in the back is ok, as long as its taking away from the main subject.

BTW I agree about the fact the clouds are calming ;-)a and should stay.

cheers, Paul
