I finally managed to find this site after driving up and down a B road near St. Ives in Cornwall...Don't even ask about trying to find men-an-tol !

5D MkI with a 17-40mm. Feel free to ask for directions if you are heading down that way!

I much prefer the first. The B&W works well, and the image has a clearer subject. Very striking.

Thanks guys - I think I prefer the first one as well - I could have done with lighting the underside of the stone a bit more I think...

Liked the BW image. Thought it had more potential than your realised. Well done. Nice capture.

Nice touch thanks that was the B&W conversion I was looking for. What did you use to dodge in the corners etc? Thanks

:-) It's been a bit of a hit and miss affair to date. I used to use iPhoto on Mac for a bit and then use Photoshop Elements 8 generally changing settings as I went until I liked the look of it. However with this one I decided to use the "The Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 book" by Scott Kelby and Matt Kloskowski and followed their step by step for converting to B& W in RAW...So that was this result!

If you need to protect your trade craft feel free to PM it!!
